Inspection

A mold inspection in San Diego can be as easy as a visual walk-through of a property. Using moisture meters and imaging tools as well as an experienced eye to locate and identify a potential mold or moisture problem. Use meters to find and measure moisture content within a building material such as wood in your cabinetry, sub-floor, or framing, and also in plaster and drywall on walls and ceilings. During a walk-through, we pay special attention to the most commonly found problem areas, such as under kitchen, bathroom, and laundry sinks. We will often inspect the exterior of the home as well, looking for potential water incursion issues caused by faulty or misdirected irrigation sprinkler heads, clogged or improper rain gutters, and drainage systems. Finding visible mold growth on a surface does not automatically mean you have toxic “Black Mold” (Stachybotrys). Out of 100,000 types of mold, only a few dozen are known to be toxic, but if mold/fungal growth is visibly found on a surface it usually indicates there is an abundance of it and there is a reason for concern.
